Worksheet - Safety Behaviors (from Psychology.Tools)



Safety-seeking behaviours are a natural response to threat (think 'fight or flight' - people act to keep themselves safe). Unfortunately, some behaviours have the effect of reinforcing beliefs about threat, or mean that beliefs don't get challenged.

Found an interesting analogy from The Simpsons strip. Do take a look and figure out if you notice any Safety Behaviors in / around you.
